Tottenham Hotspur should ponder a move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi as a decent back-up for star man Harry Kane.
What’s the word?
Fernando Llorente may have publicly announced his intentions to stay at the club, but last season, the Spaniard failed to deliver.
The club should be looking at alternatives to help share the goal burden with Kane, who hit an impressive 30 Premier League strikes in the 2017-18 campaign.
Michy Batshuayi is currently on Chelsea’s books, but he has never been high in the pecking order.

In fact, the Belgium international, who is valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, made just 12 Premier League appearances last season.
In January, Batshuayi joined Borussia Dortmund on loan for the second half of the campaign and impressed by netting seven goals in 10 Bundesliga outings.
Unfortunately, injury curtailed his progress in Germany, but he is now fighting fit and competing at the World Cup in Russia.

Why should Tottenham swoop?
Kane is certainly Spurs’ main man when it comes to attacking areas, but when the England international needs a rest or is sidelined with an injury, somebody else needs to step up.
Tottenham do have other players that can provide goals, such as Dele Alli and Son Heung-min, but they need another reliable attacker.
Batshuayi has shown at Dortmund that he does have the ability to be prolific, but they play in a style that means he can be in the right place at the right time for a tap-in.
Tottenham beat to a different drum, but if given a chance, the Belgian has the hunger to succeed.
No disrespect to Llorente, but Batshuayi would certainly be a more dynamic option to bring on off the bench.
